What exactly is a Smash Room?A Smash Room, also known as a Wreck Room or Rage Room, is specifically designed as a safe space where one can gear up in full PPE (goggles, face shield, coveralls, Kevlar gloves, shoe covers) and break or destroy household items while being allowed to vent in a physical yet safe and healthy way while not worrying about cleaning up after the mess has been created. We are focusing on the positive effect releasing stress will have on us all as opposed to the anger and rage one usually associates a rage room with, which is why we went with Smash Room instead.

Do I have to book an appointment online ahead of time? Or are Walk-Ins allowed? It is definitely recommended that you book an appointment with enough time for us to not only ensure we have the items you request, but to also guarantee your time slot. Walk-Ins are not guaranteed a time slot due to our bookings or Team Building groups. You are more than welcome to stop by and see if we have availability or log on during your drive over (just please make sure you are not the one driving at the time). You can also head to our photo op section and take some fun pictures while you're in the area.
-
Do I need an ID?Yes! You need a valid form of identification and an attitude and the expectation to release stress while also having fun!
-
Do I need to sign a waiver?Yes!!! You can print and sign before arriving to save some time or you can ask for a copy and you can sign before beginning our prep time. This is why we ask all of our Smashers to be here about 15-20 minutes before the scheduled appointment time. Children 13+ will need to be accompanied by an adult/guardian and will also need signed waivers.
-
Is there an age limit for the Smash Room experience?Currently, our Smashers can only be 13+ with kids under 18 requiring a signed waiver and also accompanied by an adult. Take into consideration that we are working with counselors to brainstorm the best ways to provide a fun and safe environment for younger Smashers ages 8-12 in the near future.
-
What should I wear?Trust us when we say, "It will get hot and you will sweat. You'll get a good workout going while in there." Athletic wear/attire is recommended but not required. Pants are recommended for extra protection. Closed-toe shoes are required. In other words, ABSOLUTELY NO CROCS, NO HEELS, and NO SANDALS. PPE such as a face shield, goggles, coveralls, Nitrile gloves to be worn under Kevlar gloves, and shoe covers will be PROVIDED and REQUIRED.
-
Do you have a changing area?We do have individual restrooms if needed, but know that our PPE should be worn over your clothes.
-
Can I take pictures or video? You are allowed to take pics or video but understand that it is at your own risk and Mental Maintenance LLC will not be held responsible if anything happens to your phone or camera. You can purchase video from our camera system and have it emailed or purchase a USB from us. You can also rent a GoPro from us if you'd like.
-
What do we do with our possessions?Mental Maintenance LLC is not responsible for missing or broken items inside or in your vehicle. If you leave items in your vehicle, we recommend keeping them out of plain sight. Inside the Smash Room, you will be provided with a locker to leave your items.
-
What is your cancellation policy? There is no cancellation fee for cancellations that are 7 or more days in advance. You will get the full refund. Within 24 hours & 7 days in advance, you can reschedule with no additional fee. Absolutely NO REFUND for cancellations that are made less than 24 hours in advance or if you are either more than 10 minutes LATE or are a NO SHOW.
-
What if I or someone in our group has been drinking?Drinking is not allowed on the premises. If someone protrudes a strong scent of alcohol or appears to be or acts intoxicated or under the influence from alcohol or drugs, that person will be asked to RESCHEDULE for a different day without a rescheduling fee.
-
How much time is allotted per session? This all depends on your booking. For the norm, each session will last no more than 30 minutes. Note: we ask that your group arrive 15-20 minutes before your scheduled time and will probably be another 15-20 minutes afterwards to cool down and return all PPE, for a final or additional charges, and to wait for recordings if purchased.
-
How long is the entire Smash Room experience? It all depends on what your appointment entails. It's important to try to be there about 15-20 minutes before your scheduled time so you can have enough time to sign the waiver if you don't print it and sign at home, to listen to a brief tutorial of the Smash Room run through, dressing with your PPE, choosing your destruction tool, and taking “before” pics. Then, it’s possibly an extra 15-20 minutes at the end for final or extra payments, taking “after” pics, and getting your video finalized if purchased. Total, it’s probably about an hour.
-
What do I get to smash? This all depends on what option you purchase and what is available. If you have any special requests, please let us know at least 7 days prior to your appointment so we can do our best to find the general item you are looking for or something similar.
-
Can we bring our own stuff to break? And can we bring our own tools to break them with? You can definitely bring your own breakables for a fee (which covers the PPE and clean up process). FYI, we do go through them to make sure they all follow strict guidelines as to what is acceptable and what is not. For safety reasons, you are not allowed to use your own destruction tools.
-
How many people are allowed per Smash Room session? We have two rooms that each hold up to 4 people per session. Our larger room holds more people for Team Building functions.
-
Can music be played during our Smash Room session?Bluetooth speakers are provided to connect your phone to and play your own music if you would like. We are currently working on other options.
-
Can the rest of our group watch our Smash Room experience?Yes. They can watch from the tv in the reception area if the group gives permission to show it.
-

-
Is a Smash Room considered safe?We have specific guidelines set in place and give our Smashers a quick tutorial on safety before entering the Smash Room. We also have mandatory PPE (face shield, goggles, coveralls, Nitrile gloves to be worn under Kevlar gloves, and shoe covers) for your protection. While 100% safety cannot be guaranteed, please know that we do the best we can to provide you with a safe environment to smash our breakables; But because it is not guaranteed, we require all our Smashers to sign a waiver, especially those younger than 18 years old.
-
Do you have any COVID-19 Safety Protocols in place?Masks are not required but are definitely recommended and highly encouraged. This is why scheduled appointments are preferred, to avoid larger crowds waiting. We do recommend wearing a mask until you receive your PPE. All safety gear is immediately disinfected after each use and we use the PPE that has not been used for the following appointments. Latex Nitrile disposable gloves are distributed to be worn under the Kevlar gloves as well. Used coveralls are being washed/cleaned constantly throughout the day. We also have touchless hand sanitizers and touchless restroom features.
-
What exactly is your Photo Op section about? It's not a selfie room or museum, but you can still take selfies. We have setups for groups based on holidays, festivals, special occasions, etc. You can take a selfie or group pics with family, friends, coworkers, or your partner. You can even bring your own photographer if you'd like. We will also have volunteer amateur photographers every once in a while.
-
Do I have to book an appointment online ahead of time? Or are Walk-Ins allowed? No reservations for this section. Only Walk-Ins. The only time you need to schedule an appointment is if you want to come in during non-business hours with a photographer for a private session (individual or group). The prices remain the same per person ($20 per person ages 5+), but the photographer is free and there is an additional $50 convenience charge.
-
What should I wear? We’d say to come dressed to “Unleash your BEAUTY,” but that's completely up to you, the look you're going for, and taking the seasons and holidays into consideration.
-
Do you have a changing area?We do have individual restrooms to change if needed.
-
Can I take pictures or video?Of course you can use your camera for pictures in our photo op area. There will be camera stands around the area that you can use to set up your phone. We will sometimes have volunteers to take pictures for our clientele, but please understand that they are not professionals but they will accept tips.
-
What exactly does Team Building consist of?We can’t share all our secrets, but depending on the size of your group, you would be divided into “teams” to participate in different activities. Activities in the Smash Room will be part of it, of course, and then the photo op section will somehow be incorporated into “Team Building” activities. You will get to experience the entire Mental Maintenance LLC experience where your group will each “Unleash your BEAUTY & your BEAST” side! Definitely a fun and bonding smashing experience!
-
What ages can participate in the Team Building experience? For the Smash Room part of the experience, only 13+ is allowed right now. We are working on new ideas though. But for all other activities included, everyone can participate. Children under 13 can watch you all on the tv or play games we have available in the reception area near our receptionist until that part is done.
-
What should we wear if we schedule a Team Building activity experience? We suggest your group comes dressed up to take pictures in our photo op section before you begin your Team Building experience. You can always take pictures again afterwards, but you will probably be a tad sweaty. So come dressed up and bring an extra set of clothes that consist of jeans and tennis shoes. Your group will receive a complimentary t-shirt for booking your Team Building experience with us. And for those with longer hair, bring a hair tie too!
-
Can we take pictures and/or video?Of course, but at your own risk! Your group can also purchase the video from our surveillance camera system or rent out a GoPro or two or five. With enough time, we should be able to get a photographer for an additional fee.
